        Dr Rogeh Habashi completed his medical school at the University of Toronto in 2016 and his General Surgery residency at McMaster University in 2022. After his training he received dual board certification from the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) and the American Board of Surgery (FACS). In 2022-23, Dr Habashi completed an American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES) - certified fellowship in Endocrine Surgical Oncology at the University of Toronto and the University Health Network, graduating with distinction and receiving the prestigious Dr Paul Greig Outstanding Fellow Award. He joins the Brant Community Healthcare System as a general and endocrine surgeon with keen interests in continuous medical education, multidisciplinary care and quality improvement.


        In addition to his medical training, Dr Habashi is also a 2019 Hortsmann Scholar graduating with distinction from Yale University with a Masters of Public Health and Biostatistics. He joins the McMaster University as an Adjunct Assistant Professor. He also continues to collaborate with his mentor Dr Jesse Pasternak at the University of Toronto, working on multiple Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (IC/ES) provincial-level projects to advance and improve the care of endocrine surgery patients. Dr Habashi is also an active member of the Surgical AI Research Academy (SARA) at the University Health Network led by Dr Amin Madani, working on incorporating computer vision and machine learning in improving surgical outcomes and surgical education.


        Dr Habashi provides a wide scope of practice including general surgery, endoscopy (diagnostic and therapeutic) as well as endocrine surgery including care for thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal diseases. He is also AAES-certified in bedside thyroid and parathyroid ultrasonography. Aside from his clinical and academic roles, Dr Habashi is a stern advocate for patient care.
